Town Meeting 2022: Springfield, N.H., voters elect new selectman, approve bond for new fire truck – Valley News

SPRINGFIELD, N.H. — Poul Heilmann won a contested race against George McCusker for a three-year term on the Selectboard in a 196 to 68 vote.

Bernard “B” Manning won a contested race against Timothy Cook to serve a three-year term on the budget committee. The race was tight, with a final vote count of 222 to 217. Doris Lefebvre won a contested race against Claudia Zent to be supervisor of the checklist in a 113 to 108 vote. Janet Roberts defeated Mark Durgin in a 224 to 40 vote. She will serve a three-year term as a library trustee.

Voters passed all warrant articles, including the town’s $1.59 million operating budget, during the floor portion of Town Meeting Saturday.

They also approved a $525,000 bond for a new fire truck and $87,000 to prepare land for a new sand shed.
