At least three people were taken to area hospitals after a crash involving a fire truck, a city bus and another vehicle in Nashville Thursday morning during a winter snow storm.
The three-vehicle wreck took place just after 8:40 a.m. on Jefferson Street near 3rd Avenue North in Germantown.
Nashville Fire Department spokesperson Kendra Loney confirmed a NFD engine and a WeGo Public Transit bus and another vehicle were involved.
Loney said two people were taken to TriStar Centennial Medical Center and a third was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
None of the victims suffered major injuries, Loney said.
Snow was first seen in Nashville around 7:30 a.m. before overtaking the rest of the region. The National Weather Service reported as much as 2-6 inches was expected to accumulate in Middle Tennessee. Locally higher amounts are possible.
Crashes clogged many roads during an already slow morning commute Thursday after snow began falling about 7 a.m., leading emergency workers across the state to urge drivers to use extra caution or avoid driving altogether.
About 9 a.m., Metro Nashville police were responding to more than two dozen crashes involving property damage and about a half-dozen injury crashes across Davidson County.
