Riding in style: 2nd grade student wins poster contest, takes fire truck to school – Main Street Clarksville

Caitlin, the winner of Fort Campbell Fire and Emergency Services’ Fire Prevention Week poster contest, was escorted by Fort Campbell firefighters as her entire grade level cheered for her outside the school’s front doors.

Caitlin’s winning design featured Sparky the Fire Dog and a house with a smoke alarm going off.

Her poster was selected from a pool of about 20 posters designed by first-fifth grade students from Fort Campbell schools. Directorate of Emergency Services employees blindly voted for their favorite poster, making Caitlin the winner.

Caitlin, a second grade student, drew the poster with this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign theme in mind. This year’s theme was “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety.”

The theme promotes education concerning smoke alarms and the sounds they make.
