BANGOR — The Bangor Fire Department is looking for a used fire truck on the market.
Fire Chief Tom Higgins said the truck they have available as spare didn’t pass inspection due to severe corrosion on the truck’s frame. Higgins said they used to use the engine for large fires and when another one of their trucks was in need of service.
Higgins is looking for a used truck with a stainless steel body.
“Luckily the rest of our equipment is in great shape. We have not had a lot of equipment failures so having a used truck should fit in for us,” he said.
Higgins said the old truck will be sold sometime in 2022 and the money will go back to the city.
