Fire Truck Crashes Into Nine Vehicles While Responding To Earlier Accident – CarScoops

A fire truck responding to a crash in Spanish Fork, Utah was involved in an accident of its own and the entire incident was caught on video.

As you can see in this clip obtained by KSL, the fire truck was traveling on the shoulder of I-15 while attempting to get to the scene of the original accident.

Unfortunately, the fire truck hit a vehicle that appears to have been stopped slightly over the yellow line. The impact caused the front of the fire truck to go airborne, before crashing back to the ground.

The driver then lost control and hit several vehicles including the recorder’s Honda Accord as well as the Toyota Highlander in front of it. While the Accord seems to have escaped relatively unscathed, the same can’t be said about the other vehicles as the car originally hit by the fire truck was pretty banged up and so was the Highlander.

No one was seriously hurt, but KSL reported the first two vehicles that were hit each had a woman and four children in them. All were apparently taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while three firefighters were also taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden told the station a total of nine vehicles were involved in the crash and they’re still trying to figure out if the “fire engine was driving too close or if a vehicle sticking out into the lane caused the series of crashes.” However, judging by the video, it appears to be a little of both.
